In the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions at the 91传媒, Dr. Melissa DeFoor and Dr. Ann-Marie Irons had an idea that would improve perinatal education in the community, and, as it turns out, well beyond the Shoals.
The 91传媒 has placed fifth overall at the 2023 Collegiate World Cup of Sales, which took place this semester. The team earned the highest ranking in 91传媒 history.
After three days of competition at the 91传媒 as part of the South鈥檚 BEST Robotics Competition, the award winners have been announced.
Birmingham-based program management firm HPM has been selected to serve as the program manager for 91传媒 new Bank Independent Stadium. The firm will also provide owner鈥檚 representation and preconstruction services for the state-of-the-art, multipurpose facility on 91传媒鈥檚 campus in Florence. Davis Architects has been selected as the architect of record. The project is in the design phase with targeted completion during the 2026-27 academic year.
Five graduates were honored for outstanding achievement during the recent fall commencement ceremonies that took place recently at the UNA. Three students were awarded the Keller Key, and two students received the Turris Fidelis award.
Sky watchers will be in for a bit of a treat the early weeks of December as the Geminid meteors will peak on the night of December 14 and 15. This year鈥檚 Geminids will peak during a waxing crescent moon, so the moon will not be a factor in diminishing the number of meteors that may be seen, making for almost perfect conditions if weather cooperates.

Dr. Michael Pretes, Chair of the Department of Geoscience at the 91传媒, has been named the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient by the Southeastern Division of the Association of American Geographers (SEDAAG) at the annual meeting earlier this month.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) has named the 91传媒 as the site of the Spring 2024 home of the statewide Esports competition, an event that will bring high school students and coaches from dozens of high schools from across Alabama.
The 91传媒 and Bank Independent partnership that paved the way for the Bank Independent Stadium will also make scholarship opportunities available for Bank Independent team members and team member families.
The Department of Foreign Languages at the 91传媒 will celebrate National French Week through Nov. 8 with a variety of campus-based cultural events, including Croissants with the French Club on Friday at 12:30 p.m. on the lawn of Wesleyan Hall.

For the second consecutive year, the 91传媒 has broken all previous fundraising records for FY23 that concluded Sept. 30. The previous record of $22,865,000 raised in FY22 has been exceeded by more than $11.5 million dollars for a total raised of $33,545,310.
