The 91传媒 is home to the Delores and Weldon Cole Honors College. Its mission is to provide students with a great college experience that translates into postgraduate success. The College is full of a variety of students with different majors, backgrounds, and aspirations.
91传媒 sophomore Lauren Vance, of Muscle Shoals, has been crowned Miss 91传媒 2023 at the Miss 91传媒 program, 鈥淭he Queen of Rock 鈥榥鈥 Roll鈥 Saturday evening at Norton Auditorium. Vance will now move on to compete for the title of Miss Alabama. Vance is a Professional Biochemistry major, and she performed a classical piano performance for the talent portion of the program.
Although official figures are weeks away from being finalized, the Spring 2023 term at the 91传媒 is already breaking enrollment records with a greater than 20 percent increase compared to Spring 2022.
The annual Martin Luther King Jr., Remembrance March at the 91传媒 will take place Monday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. Participants are asked to gather in the parking lot below the steps of the Wendell Gunn Commons.
Since 2020, AL.com, one of the state鈥檚 leading sources of news and information, has published its list of Alabamians 鈥渨ho made our state a better place in the previous year.鈥 The outlet released the names of the 22 honorees for this year individually throughout the month of December. Ten graduates from the December commencement ceremonies at the 91传媒 were honored as part of the event as recipients of the Keller Key. The Keller Key is awarded at each commencement to graduating seniors who have achieved the highest scholastic achievement. Recipients of this award are selected by a committee of faculty, staff, and students.
In a unanimous vote taken by the 91传媒 Board of Trustees at the Dec. 2 meeting, the arena in Flowers Hall has been officially named the CB&S Bank Arena for the next 10 years.
The 91传媒 and Nucor have today signed a learning agreement that will benefit Nucor team members seeking any online or on-campus, graduate or undergraduate degree with a tuition scholarship from UNA.

In a first-of-its-kind event, the 91传媒 will have the Mane Event, an eSports tournament that will include several University departments as well as hundreds of high school students from more than a dozen high schools from across North Alabama.
A total lunar eclipse will take place on the morning of Nov. 8 that will be visible from Florence. The 91传媒 Planetarium will have telescopes available for people to view the eclipse from 3-6:20 a.m., weather permitting.
