Current Summer Housing Residents:

• If you are living on campus right now (summer housing/apartments), you must select a key pick-up time on transition day which is tentatively Monday, July 27th. You will have until Wednesday, July 30th at 8am to complete your move. 
• If you are remaining in the same assignment for Fall and have plans to depart betweeen August 10th and 16th, you must relocate your vehicle to Lot AA, M, or O in order to avoid towing. The Rice/Rivers/Parking Deck/ and GUC lots will be unavailable. 

Fall Rice Residents:

• Rice Hall is where our summer hall residents live. Some of these students are relocating to new buildings. There could be some delay in the availability of these rooms due to cleaning, maintenance, or delay in their fall assignment. If you are assigned to these buildings, there may be a delay in your room preparation. If you have an early reservation, we will contact you should this be the case. 

Reservation System:

• The reservation system will open on July 1st at 10am and can be accessed .
• There will be a certain number of spots allocated each day. They are first-come, first-serve. We cannot create additional spots for special circumstances. 
• We cannot accommodate any early arrivals other than those listed below. We appreciate your understanding. 

August 6th: Band/Sororities/ROAR Dance

• Students will check-in at the HRL office in Rivers Hall. Volunteers will not be available for early arrivals. 

August 12th-15th: Fall Opening Weekend

• All Students (Residence Halls & Apartments)
• Students will begin check-in at the College View Church of Christ parking lot or Appleby East/West parking lot depending on their assignment and work their way through a series of drive-thru stations. Limited volunteers will be available to assist in the unloading zones and provide assistance as you get moved in. 
• Construction in the residential area will modify traffic routes and walking paths. Please note, there will be very limited transportation assistance for guests. 

August 18th-22nd: Late Arrivals

• Students will check-in at the HRL office in Rivers Hall. Volunteers will not be available for late arrivals. 

Early Check-In:

• Early Arrival residents typically include athletics, band, sororities, etc. and should confirm their expected arrival dates/times/details with their respective Director/Coach/Advisor/Supervisor. 
• Please direct questions specific to expectations and schedules to that individual and contact Housing & Residence Life with questions regarding your housing assignment. 
• You will check-in at the HRL office on the ground floor of Rivers Hall. We will have carts available, but our staff are in training and assistance will be limited. Volunteers are not available. Please note that you are arriving before we officially open so this is a 'no-frills' move-in, but we're still thrilled to see you! 

Move-In Weekend:

• This is when the majority of our residents will arrive. We will have volunteers, popscicles, and more Lion spirit than you can imagine. 
• You will begin at the College View Church of Christ parking lot or Appleby East/West parking lot, dependent upon your assignment, and finalize your check-in. You must complete this step before going to your assigned location. 
• You will then go to your assigned building where you will unload. Please keep someone with your vehicle as this part moves quickly.
• Once unloaded, you will relocate your vehicle to the designated parking areas then you can take all the time you want to get settled!

Late Arrivals:

• If you cannot/choose not to arrive between August 12th-15th, you may check on the first week of class. You do not need prior approval to do this, but should reserve a time. 
• If you have not officially checked in by 8am on Thursday, August 20th, you will be contacted via email/phone call. If no response by Monday, August 24th, you will be declared a 'No-Show' and your assignment will be cancelled unless you fall into the category below. 

• We will not have volunteers available during early and late check-ins. We will have limited volunteers on move-in weekend. 
• You may volunteer to assist with move-in weekend by registering . 

• You must have your QR check-in code available in the Housing Portal. 
• You must have your MANE Card (digital or physical) or Photo ID present to check in. Digital is recommended.

• Please refer to the Parking Map for unloading zones and parking instructions.
• Rice/Rivers Hall parking lots will close at 6pm on Sunday, August 10th.
• The Rivers/Rice parking lots will remain closed until Saturday, August 16th at 8pm. 
• Vehicles must be parked in Lot AA, M, or O overnight so residents can utilize the Parking Deck when moving in and unloading. The Parking Deck will be available to all students at 6pm on Sunday, August 10th. 

• Visitation is strictly prohibited between the end of summer term on July 31st and Thursday, August 12th when the residence halls officially open. 

• The reservation system will open at 10am on July 1st and can be accessed in the . 
• If you need to change your reservation, you must remove your original reservation before selecting a new one. You cannot have two reserved slots at one time. 
• If you reserve a time on a day that you are not eligible for, your reservation will be removed.
